I’ve been back for a few weeks but just got this
picture of our panel- with me from left to right are Brett Battles, Joseph Finder, Gayle Lynds, David Morell, and David Montgomery- Book critic for the Chicago Sun Times.
I tried not to say anything stupid. I’d like to think I succeeded so if you were there and know something I don’t… please keep it to yourself!
Thrillerfest was great- I can’t wait to go back next year! Got signed books from Matt Hilton, Lee Child, and Andrew Grant. (all brits… just worked out that way). Got pictures with Lee Child and James Rollins. Learned some interesting tidbits about the publishing industry and ate some good food.
In other news, my editor called me this week to say the first printing of Gray Man will be 115,000 copies, which greatly exceeded expectations. Orders from bookstores and distributors were good… now they must just SELL the books when they come out!
Hope you’re a fast writer ‘cuz I reallly need more of GRAY MAN fast!!!! Maybe I’ll just have to reread it sometime in the near future!!! Thanks, Mark, for coming on the scene…..you were sure in awesome company with Joe Finder and Gayle Lynds…they’re both super champs!!! Cheers Gail
